Meditainment is a unique blend of guided meditation, stories, natural sounds and music that helps people to relax, meditate and manage their thoughts.
Is there a religious or spiritual dimension?
No, all Meditainment content is non-religious. It is not aligned with any religious, atheist or spiritual movement. Meditainment is often used for personal development and exploration of the mind. Users do this on their own terms.
What are the audio programmes like?
They are guided meditations with stories, music and natural sounds.
A typical programme lasts 21 minutes:
0 - 5 mins Simple relaxation exercise that relaxes the body and calms thoughts
6 - 12 mins Story-line that captivates attention and encourages feelings of relaxation
13 - 15 mins Narrative about wellbeing topic for reflection in the meditative state
16 - 21 mins Story-line leads out of meditative state and a return to daily life
Why am I invited to close my eyes?
It's extremely difficult to relax fully and visualize a story with your eyes open. Once in a meditative state, you might experience something similar to lucid dreaming, where you are totally in control and can create a world within your imagination.
How can I get the best meditation experience?
EXPECTATION - do not expect to enter a meditative state until after about 10 minsATTENTION - you gain more by being free from interruption
CONDITIONS - listen with headphones or good speakers
What are the benefits?
The practise of meditation has a number of psychological benefits including increased calm & happiness and reduced stress & anxiety. Physical benefits include reduced blood pressure and an enhanced immune system.
