We are committed to ensuring that the Meditainment website and course of guided meditations are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of the course and website; in doing so, adhere where possible to many of the available standards and guidelines. We want everyone who visits the Meditainment website and/or participates in the journey, to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.
The Meditainment website and journey have been built using the fifth revision of the HTML markup language (HTML5) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), compliant with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards. The website and course display correctly in current browsers, using standards compliant HTML/CSS code, which means any future browsers will also display correctly.
The website follows the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the Meditainment website and journey.
Areas for improvement
We endeavour to adhere to the accepted guidelines for accessibility and usability and are working hard to achieve our goal of Level AA accessibility, but we realise that it is not always possible to do so in all areas, consequently there are some areas of the website/journey that still need improving:
Audio Description or Media Alternative (Pre-recorded). Video content can be followed with audio description only
1.3.1, 1.4.3, 4.1.1
Inline styles / Element decorators / NAV Toggle outside form / Heading hierarchy
1.1.1, 1.3.1, 2.4.6, 3.3.2, 4.1.2
Form input elements utilising placeholders. CC1 – Script combining
